Ambulance stolen from hospital, police look for suspect

-

City police are investigating after an ambulance was stolen from the Foothills Hospital on Monday night and later found abandoned in a nearby neighbourhood.

Officers were called to the 2600 block of Parkdale Boulevard N. W. around 10 p. m. after a witness reported seeing an ambulance parked on the side of the road and a lone male occupant getting out with a cast and crutches, said Det. Jeff Charlet.

The ambulance was determined to be stolen from the Foothills Hospital earlier that night.

But by the time police arrived, the man was nowhere to be found, Charlet said, adding police have a suspect in mind.

It’s not known whether anything was stolen from the vehicle.

Investigators will be looking at obtaining CCTV for more information.
