Social engineering

Re: “Alberta announces climate panel, but no targets or deadlines for emission reductions,” Aug. 14.

No surprise that the Alberta NDP would gather its hubris and Quixote- rush climate change, but come on! Unless your lawyers can browbeat Mother Nature into repealing Canadian winters, you might as well save our money.

The petroleum industry is already doing the job for you. Every time a barrel of crude drops $ 10 and they raise gas prices another dime per litre at the pumps, we get ticked off and consider driving less.

This is obvious social engineering in concert with profit engorgement. Most commodity industries would work on selling more product to offset lower prices. Who’s kidding whom here? Guy Plecash, Calgary
