Saskatchewan man charged after body found near Taber
A Saskatchewan resident has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a man in southern Alberta earlier this week.
RCMP officers were called Tuesday morning to respond to a complaint of a missing person and a disturbance, and found the body of 36-year-old Silas Lorne Kiseyinewakup adjacent to a working farm where he was employed near Taber.
An autopsy was completed in Calgary on Thursday, but the results have not been released pend- ing toxicology tests.
Stacey Charles Wahpistikwan, 38, of Big Island Cree Nation, Sask., has been charged with seconddegree murder and indignity to a body.
The two individuals knew each other, but police did not elaborate further. Investigators did not release a motive, only that the incident was not random.
Wahpistikwan is scheduled to appear in Lethbridge court on Friday via CCTV.
