Donnelly sets junior record
The Olympic Oval’s Fall Classic had a recordbreaking Day 1 as Ben Donnelly set a new Canadian Junior record with a 3:45.45 in the 3000-metre men’s event. Donnelly’s performance eclipsed the previous junior record of 3:45.98 held by Olympic medallist Justin Warsylewicz for the past decade. The Oshawa, Ont., native captured the 2015 Canadian Junior title in Quebec City. It was a Canadian sweep of the 500-metre races as Olympian Anastasia Bucsis and Canadian Development team member Jacob Graham placed first in the men’s and women’s events.
