Air India out to restore old glory
India’s national carrier has appointed a squad of monitors to respond to passenger complaints about poor service and dirty planes. The Times of India described the customer service czars as an image-building exercise aimed at winning back market share eroded by competitors such as Jet Airways and IndiGo. Air India chairman Ashwani Lohani said a new “speedy” grievance system would be installed that would “resurrect the old glory of Air India.”
