Mexi- Go! connects Canadians with their Mexican dream home

-

For many Canadians, buying a second home in— or retiring to— Mexico is not a dream, it’s a reality. And it’s thanks to companies like Mexi-Go! that buyers are able to find the best deals and learn the lay of the land.

“We are a full-service marketing company that helps Mexican business, primarily real estate, promote their product in Canada,” says CEO Madeline Milne, publisher/editor for mexi-go.ca and MexiGo! magazine. “Onthe flipside, we help Canadians understand a bit more about what it takes to purchase real estate in Mexico, toretire in Mexico, oropen a business in Mexico.”

In the coming weeks, the Herald will profile a number of Mexican real estate opportunities for Canadians looking for a second home or retirement residence in a part of the world knownfor its warm climate and vibrant culture.

Mexi- Go! provides contact information for developments, brokers and agents, and straight-to-the-point facts about topics ranging from healthcare and finances to day-to-day life in Mexico. “We have information on all the different areas of Mexico … our website has over 75 cities with write-ups and places of interest,” says Milne.

“We pride ourselves in understanding the Canadian experience; when we started the company, most of the information available was geared towards Americans – yet 25 per cent of tourists who come to Mexico are Canadian.

“We try to figure out the best ways for Canadians to make themove to Mexico, whether it’s dealing with banking or visa requirements,” Milne adds.

Despite the slumping Canadian dollar, Milne says buyers can still find good value inMexican real estate, and even though the peso is trading a little higher than it was a year ago, “it’s very possible to come here and live an excellent life for under $1,500-2,000 a month.”

More younger buyers are getting into theMexican market, Milne says. “They’re buying properties as investment for the future and renting them out,” she says.

With this in mind, Milne saysMexi- Go! will be launching a new interactive digital magazine that will be available on iTunes and the website to complement its longstanding print magazine.
