BROOKFIELD’S NORTHERN LINK
Affordable townhomes to be built in fast-growing community of Evanston
Brookfield Residential is taking a successful idea to new territory with its latest townhome development in northwest Calgary.
A 124-unit townhome develop- ment called The Link at Evanston is Brookfield’s first time building and selling homes in a community that isn’t also master-planned and developed by the company itself. This follows recent townhome builds by Brookfield in Auburn Bay, McKenzie Towne, Cranston and Riverstone of Cranston.
“Evanston was a great fit for us,” says Brookfield’s business development manager Ashley Buchanan. “It’s a very successful, high-demand community and we thought it would be a great opportunity to bring a multi-family project into the community now that there is already retail established (and) schools under construction.”
Evanston is a community by Qualico Communities that’s in the Symons Valley corridor. It features the Evanston Towne Centre as a commercial hub, which is anchored by a Sobeys grocery store. The community is also near Creekside Shopping Centre and Beacon Hill Shopping Centre.
The Link opens sales at noon on Saturday at 521 Evanston Link N.W., with pre-construction prices starting in the $235,000 range, before tax.
“It’s the affordable price point in such a high-demand community,” Buchanan says, adding this should make the town houses attractive to first-time home buyers.
“Evanston is one of the fastestgrowing communities in Calgary over the past few years and we’re excited to bring this affordable product into the neighbourhood,” Buchanan says.
There are eight floor plans at the Link, ranging from 812 to 1,425 square feet, offered with single, tandem or two-car attached garages.
“We’ve tweaked them a little bit from what we’ve offered in the south,” says Buchanan.
This includes staple models from Brookfield’s previous townhome developments, such as the Sienna, Carmine, Indigo and Crimson, which all come in a two- or threebedroom orientations. The twobedroom options are the Mikado, Ruby, Ivory and Plum, which is a new model for Brookfield.
“We’re really excited to bring our very popular town houses that we’ve been selling in the southeast communities for the past 10 years into the north,” Buchanan adds.
Interior finishes for these town houses include laminate floors, pre-finished solid maple cabinet doors, a pantry and stainless steel appliances. Buyers also get to pick from a wide selection of design options, including rustic modern and bold living.
Show homes for the Link are expected to be ready in spring 2016. For more information, visit alberta.brookfieldresidential.com.
