VANTAGE FIRESIDE FLANKED BY NATURE

Cochrane townhome project offers immense outdoor appeal

- JOSH SKAPIN

Calbridge Homes is lifting the curtain on two show homes at its townhome development in Cochrane.

The award-winning builder is holding a grand-opening event to present the Columbia and Rundle models at Vantage Fireside. Calbridge is the reigning multi-family builder of the year, picking up the title at the Canadian Home Builders’ Association-Calgary Region SAM (Sales and Marketing) Awards in the spring.

Vantage Fireside is a 147-unit development with prices starting from the $270,000s. These are three-storey townhomes that come with a private patio and attached garage.

“The homes and the location look absolutely amazing,” says Dan Hippe, Calbridge’s director of marketing. “When we launched the project, we were targeting younger adults who are wanting to take advantage of that outdoor lifestyle and to be quite honest, those are the buyers who have purchased in there so far.”

Hippe credits “the proximity to the mountains, parks, having the ability to utilize the amenities that are in Cochrane, mountain biking, and hiking trails that go along the river.”

Vantage Fireside’s show homes are at 602 and 250 Fireside View and open 2 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and noon to 5 p.m. on weekends.

The Columbia is its most spacious option at 1,486 square feet and the Rundle steps in at 1,463 square feet. In both cases, the floor plan comes with either three bedrooms or a dual master bedroom orientation. They also boast a two-car attached garage and covered deck off the main floor with a roughed-in gas line.

The development’s third plan is the Aspen. It’s a two-bedroom unit, measuring 1,119 square feet and equipped with a two-car tandem garage.

All three models come with a convenient second-floor laundry room and a main floor where the central kitchen is flanked by a dining area and great room through an open-concept design.

Vantage Fireside follows a similar idea to townhomes by Calbridge in northwest Calgary dubbed Vantage on Evans Ridge.

“We’ve taken the best of what we’ve had with our Vantage product, tweaked it a little bit to accommodate a different look than what would be more of a traditional urban style with Vantage Evans Ridge to match that mountain-esque feel (of Cochrane),” says Hippe.

These townhomes are arranged to take advantage of the natural and man-made beauty of the area, Hippe adds, including Fireside’s Bullrush Park, featuring wetlands and pathways.

“That area now has about four years of maturity, so there are a lot of natural settings that go along with that,” Hippe says. He’s seen Canada geese and snow geese in the area. “Fireside’s location is right on the boundaries of Cochrane. The wildlife is just amazing.”

At press time, Calbridge listed two immediate possession Rundle units and one of the Columbia. For more information, visit: calbridgehomes.com When we launched the project, we were targeting younger adults who are wanting to take advantage of that outdoor lifestyle.
