Teen hit by car hospitalized

A male in his mid-teens was taken to Foothills Hospital in serious condition Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle. Paramedics responded just before 10 a.m. for reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian at the intersection of 54th Street and Falworth Road N.E., which is next to Bishop McNally High School. EMS spokesman Stuart Brideaux said in a statement there were concerns for head injuries and soft-tissue injuries. There were no other patients at the scene. Calgary police are investigating the collision.
