POLICE INVESTIGATING ANNIE POOTOOGOOK’S DEATH AS SUSPICIOUS
Ottawa police say they now are treating the death of awardwinning Inuit artist Annie Pootoogook as suspicious. Pootoogook’s body was discovered last Monday in the Rideau River, about two kilometres from Parliament Hill, but she was not identified until Friday. At the time, police said they did not suspect foul play in the death of the 46-year-old artist, although officers appealed to the public for information regarding her activities in the days leading up to her death. Ottawa’s major crimes unit is now investigating.
