DROOL:
Little Henry’s Cherry Doughnut
Refined sugar
Step aside, muffin. The cherry-stuffed doughnut at Little Henry, the takeout offshoot of Ten Foot Henry, is the size of a small pillow, and arrives nestled in a pool of crème anglaise. A bit more refined than others of its ilk, but a knife and fork isn’t necessary. (It does help, however.) It’s just one of the tasty things Little Henry turns out daily. If the doughnuts are all gone, a slice of coconut cake also pairs perfectly with the coffee, brewed from beans custom-roasted at the Roasterie in Kensington. $4, at Little Henry, 1209 1st St. S.W., tenfoothenry.com. —Julie Van Rosendaal
