Police seek tips in shooting after party in Castleridge area

Calgary police say they are looking for people of interest in relation to a shooting on Feb. 11.

Around 4:30 a.m. that day, a group of people left a party at a home in the 100 block of Castleridge Way N.E. and two groups got into an argument as they were leaving the area.

One man walked to the nearby intersection of Castleridge Drive and Castleridge Way N.E. when he was approached from behind.

Police say the victim was shot with a handgun numerous times. The suspect then got into the passenger seat of a white SUV and the vehicle drove away westbound on Castleridge Dr. N.E.

The victim called 911 and was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. He has since been upgraded to serious but stable condition.

Police described the suspect as a black male, between 16 and 20 years old and about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 tall, with lighter skin and short hair. He was wearing dark clothing. The driver of the SUV is described as a black female.

Anyone who has information about the suspect and driver, or anyone who was at the party or may have witnessed the shooting, is being asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
