Amy dons her leathers for Netflix

- MELISSA HANK

Comedy lovers forever seem to be chasing Amy Schumer. Luckily, Netflix has caught up with her. Amy Schumer: The Leather Special debuts on the streaming service March 7, featuring standup material from her November 2016 show at the Bellco Theater in Denver.

In it, she does bits on bingedrinking, her relationship with her boyfriend and her relatively new-found fame. And yes, she does don a special leather outfit in The Leather Special — very Catwoman chic.

“Very happy to be a part of the Netflix family for this special,” Schumer said in a statement. “Maybe now they will look at my Stranger Things audition tape to play the Demogorgon for season 2.”

Schumer’s 2015 HBO special Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo earned three Emmy Award nominations. Her sketch-comedy series Inside Amy Schumer, which has aired four seasons on Comedy Central in the U.S. and Comedy in Canada, snagged a Peabody Award in 2014.

She also starred in the big-screen comedy Trainwreck in 2016 and her book, The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo, is a New York Times bestseller. Her mother-daughter film Snatched, co-starring Goldie Hawn, will hit theatres in May.

RAKE

While I’d like to think of Rake as a juicy gardening melodrama, with the titular tool entrenched in a bitter rivalry with Shovel and Hoe, instead it’s an award-winning Australian series debuting soon on AcornTV.

Richard Roxburgh stars as Cleaver Greene, a smart and charming lawyer with a self-destructive streak. While four season soft he legal comedy-drama have aired Down Under, the first will roll out March 6 on the streaming service known for its heavy British TV focus.

Guest stars in the inaugural season include Rachel Griffiths (Brothers & Sisters), Hugo Weaving (The Lord of the Rings films), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) and Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones).
