Aviation screening in U.S. not foolproof

-

Re: “Airport screening 2.0,” March 22.

The U.S. decided not to allow passengers on flights to America from several Middle East airports to carry on electronic devices larger than a cellphone. Do they really think this will stop a passenger from one of these countries carrying on a laptop or iPad to a U.S. flight?

It would be easy for a passenger to leave for the U.S. from almost any major European airport, after travelling there by train or highway, leaving no trace that they had started their trip from Jordan, Egypt or Qatar. Robert Dewar, Calgary
