Police charge two, seize stolen cars, drugs from home
Police say two people are facing 26 charges in relation to a stolenvehicle investigation.
Officers also recovered multiple stolen vehicles and 150 key fobs after getting information about suspicious activity in southwest Calgary.
On April 1, two stolen vehicles were found outside a home in the o-100 block of Wellington Place S.W.
On April 3, a male and female were seen leaving the residence in one of the stolen cars.
Police tracked the car to a parking lot in the 9900 block of Macleod Trail S.E., where both occupants were arrested.
Officers found 18.5 grams of various drugs during a search of the vehicle.
Shortly after the arrest, members of the tactical unit executed a search warrant on the Wellington Place S.W. home and seized items including: four stolen vehicles valued at $239,000; a stolen trailer valued at $20,000; a loaded 9 mm handgun and suppressor with two 10-round magazines; a police scanner, radio jamming device and radios; and 150 Dodge and Jeep key fobs stolen during a break and enter in Red Deer on March 24.
Police also seized 33 grams of powder cocaine valued at $4,340, nearly 20 grams of crack cocaine valued at $1,990, 441 grams of marijuana valued at $4,415 and one gram of heroin valued at $100.
Quinn Olson, 41, of Calgary is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, four counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, three counts of breach of recognizance and two violations under the Traffic Safety Act.
He is also charged with one count each of trafficking stolen property, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm with ammunition and careless storage of a firearm.
Sarah McRae, 30, of Calgary is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000, three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, one count of operating a motor vehicle while disqualified and one violation under the Traffic Safety Act.
Olson and McRae are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
