Many areas are at risk of flooding

Robert J. E Allen states ‘the Springbank dam will protect Elbow Park,” implying that this is the only neighbourhood affected by the 2013 flood requiring protection.

I would remind him that the decimation to prop- erty, businesses, schools and families was unfortunately shared by all areas on the Elbow River including the Stampede Grounds, Victoria Park, Erlton, the CTrain station and tracks, Cliff Bungalow, Mission, Rideau, Sandy Beach and Roxboro neighbourhoods, etc.

Let’s not minimize the devastation of numerous businesses, neighbourhoods and lives. Indeed, “we need to be more neighbourly” and be mindful to help and remember all the areas that were affected and to work to ensure that this never happens again.
