MEIN TO FIGHT MUHAMMAD IN JULY

-

Jordan Mein will be back in the octagon this summer. The Lethbridge native has been the most high-profile Alberta fighter in recent years, and his next fight will be against Bel al Muhammad (11-2-0) on July 8 at UFC 213. Muhammad’s stock is high after beating Randy Brown in February at UFC 208, and the 28-year-old Chicago native has hit .500 so far in his UFC career, going 2-2 over four fights. Mein, 27, meanwhile, is coming off a tough loss at UFC 206 last December in Toronto to Emil Meek. With a slot on the card at UFC 213, Mein and Muhammad will be fighting under one of the brightest slots the UFC’s annual calendar can offer. The pay-per-view card comes on the Saturday night of International Fight Week in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena, and will be headlined this year by a women’s bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko.
