A community in Calgary’s Symons Valley corridor is showcasing six new examples of what its builder group can do.

An event will be held on Saturday to celebrate the launch of the latest show home parade in Symons Gate, featuring models by Morrison Homes, Brookfield Residential, and Albi Luxury by Brookfield Residential.

The community’s first show home lineup was a finalist for Show Home Parade of the Year at the recent Calgary Region SAM (Sales and Marketing) Awards.

Master-planned community by Brookfield, Symons Gate is accessed off Symons Valley Road N.W. and now selling into its third phase of development.

“It’s a really well-connected community,” says Justin Castelino, Brookfield’s marketing manager.

This includes links within Symons Gate and to important arteries nearby.

“There’s a four-acre (1.6 hectare) environmental reserve at the north end of the community,” Castelino says, adding it also contains “interconnected pathways and numerous parks ... So you’re always within a short walk to green space.”

This includes a 0.2-hectare park with a playground, located centrally in the community on Sage Bluff Drive, dubbed Curious Park.

Outside of the community, Symons Gate is in a location that offers easy access to Stoney Trail.

“You’re in and out of the community really easily,” Castelino says.

It’s also close to an assortment of stores, restaurants and other busi- nesses at large commercial developments, such as Creekside Shopping Centre and Beacon Hill Shopping Centre.

The latest phase of the community has move-up homes on conventional lots from the mid-$500,000s, move-up homes on zero lot line lots from less than $500,000 and semidetached homes with a single-car attached garage from the mid$300,000s.

In the show home parade, Morrison and Brookfield have zero lot line models, and Albi’s homes are shown on conventional move-up lots.

The zero lot line lots are typically 29 feet wide and have a five-foot side yard, while the conventional variety is 36 feet wide with four-foot side yards on either side.

Brookfield’s show homes are the Hudson 2, a 2,150-square-foot split-level, and the 2,220-square- foot Cheyenne. Morrison’s are the 1,792-square-foot Bentley and the 2,043-square-foot Montgomery.

Albi steps in with the 2,230-square-foot Corsano and the 2,530-square-foot Savona 2. The Savona 2 is displayed with a basement suite and side entrance.

Show homes in the community are open 2 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
