Save environment before it’s too late

It’s interesting that Preston Manning acknowledges that environmental conservation has been treated as an “addon” by industry and previous governments. To appeal to the single largest bloc of voters, the conservatives have to change that position.
Mr. Manning, industry, politicians and fellow citizens, please change your perspective. We need to protect the environment in order to maintain livability on our planet!
When I was a child in the ’70s, I recall that many rivers in Germany didn’t have any fish because they were used as sewage lines to transport our waste to the oceans. It took many years and a huge amount of money to fix that. Please don’t repeat the mistakes of other countries. Future generations will have to pay for it if we do so. Gunter Sammet, Calgary
