A look at the shows scheduled to be added to Canada’s biggest streaming services
Denis Villeneuve’s Oscar-nominated sci-fi film Arrival hits Netflix on July 28.
The film — which got eight Academy Award nominations including one for best picture — stars Amy Adams as a linguistics expert who goes through a transformative experience as she tries to communicate with aliens who’ve arrived on Earth.
On July 18, Netflix also adds the latest instalment in the Star Wars franchise, last year’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
CraveTV will start streaming the Hulu adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s award-winning dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale on July 28.
The series, which aired on Bravo in Canada, has already been renewed for a second season.
A new season of Letterkenny arrived on Canada Day, while the first episode of the fourth and final season of Jared Keeso’s other show, 19-2, is available on July 30.
