Family seeks donations to help 16 children of Sage Hill homicide victims

For some of the children of homicide victims Tiffany Ear and Glynnis Fox, the reality of their mother’s deaths didn’t sink in until they were at the funeral for the two women in Morley, sitting close to their coffins.

“That’s when the tears started coming down and it was hard to see that, all those kids crying,” said Lorenzo Ear, the brother of the two women who were laid to rest Monday.

The victims left behind 16 children between them. The bodies of the sisters were found in a burnedout car in a Calgary construction site last week.

Police are treating their deaths as homicides, along with victims Cody Pfeiffer, who was also found in the car, and vehicle owner Hanock Afowerk, whose body was found two days later west of the city.

Following the family wake and funeral, Lorenzo is launching a donation drive to help support the children of the inseparable sisters he describes as loving, caring mothers and “beautiful women.”

In particular, he is seeking donations of household items, including beds, dressers, pots and pans, and clothing.

“They have beds, but they’re worn in and you can feel the springs on them,” said Lorenzo.

He has also started an online fundraising campaign through GoFundMe to support the basic needs of the children.

“These children are very lovable children, and they need all the help they can get at this time,” he said.

Since the death of their mothers, the elder children are trying to be strong for the younger ones. The youngest ones especially will be “wanting their mothers,” Lorenzo said.

“There was one of Glynnis’s ones that was really close to his mother and was asking last week, when is mom going to call? When am I going to see mom? That was pretty tough,” he said.

“But we’re being a family unit. The best I can do is try and support them.”
