Aug. 18: Robert McClure United Church hosts a Kids’ Farmers Market at 5510 - 26th Avenue N.E. from 3:307:30 p.m., featuring entertainm­ent and kid vendors. It’s an ideal way for children to learn about money by selling items that they make or grow. Such items could be flowers, produce, jewelry, cards, paintings and more. No need to pre-register. Kids simply need to arrive at 2:30 p.m., bring tables and chairs for their booth, and be ready when the market opens at 3:30 p.m. Kids should bring everything they need to set up a booth, this includes tables and chairs. Wednesdays: Buddhist Wisdom in Times of Uncertaint­y — 4 Public Talks: All are welcome to a summer series of talks on Wednesday nights in July and August. These talks and Q&As will focus on the practical aspects of Buddhist wisdom. A short meditation will follow each talk.

Aug. 9: How to Transform Disturbing Emotions. Talk will feature travel teacher Claudia Faiguenbol­m from Brazil, who took refuge in 2003 and eventually helped establish the DW centre in Barcelona, Spain. In 2010, she moved to Bogota, Colombia, where she and a few idealistic friends helped establish the first DW Living Centre in the country.
