New York’s Max Buckley will have fond memories of No. 14 on the Talons Course at Country Hills, site of his hole-in-one during the ATB Financial Classic.

The 27-year-old Buckley now has five aces on his resume, although he didn’t get to fully enjoy the latest — a smooth 7-iron on the downhill doozy, which was stretched to 210 yards for Friday’s second round of the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada stop.

“I hit my shot and kind of put my sunglasses down and said, ‘I have no idea where the ball is,’ ” Buckley said. “And then we just hear the group on the next tee put their arms up, and I put my arms up.”

The ATB Financial Classic weekend festivities also included a junior clinic at Blue Devil, and Kyler Smith provided the shot of the day with an ace on the 90-yard second hole on the Li’l Devil layout. The 10-yearold Smith drilled a driver for the 90-yard ace .

If you were whizzing by on Crowchild Trail and witnessed a celebration on the third hole at Richmond Green, it could have been Robert Herle reacting to his ace on the 112-yard assignment. Herle had a 52-degree wedge in hand for the superb shot.

Brennon Buist didn’t require his putter on the second test of HeatherGlen’s Hills Nine, instead swatting a 7-iron and then making the 176-yard stroll to retrieve his ball from the bottom of the cup.

Evan Anderson capped a round at Lakeview with an exclamation point, acing the closer at the ninehole muni with an awesome 8-iron from 107 yards out.
