Oct. 15: At 10:30 a.m., Envision, Engage, Energize: Envision the world we want, engage in work to address what inhibits its actualizat­ion, in ourselves, our communitie­s and beyond, then energize to be agents of transforma­tion or at least social disrupters. This morning celebrates that there are people gathered with us from across the Prairies for the Western Regional Fall Gathering. Oct. 15: At 10 a.m., hear the historical stories and the message of the Old Testament and the promise of the New Testament with presiding Pastor Deborah Kerr at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church at 8007 Bowness Road N.W. Following worship service, enjoy fellowship, baking and beverages.

Oct. 21: Robert McClure United Church annual roast beef dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Menu: Roast beef with side dishes, pies and beverages. Cost: $15 for adults; $13 for seniors 65 and older;

Oct. 22: Northmount Baptist Church, 451 Northmount Drive N.W. is hosting a citywide hymn sing at 7 p.m. with the Seventh Heaven Gospel Singers.

Oct. 27 & 29: The Wisdom Centre and St. Laurence Anglican Church host fall workshops at St. Laurence, 5940 Lakeview Dr. S.W. Oct. 28: St. David’s United Church, 3303 Capital Hill Cres. N.W. is having a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring gently used items from people who are downsizing.
