CBC airs Downie doc
Airing under the CBC Docs POV banner, this program commemorates the 51st anniversary of the death of Chanie Wenjack, an Indigenous boy who died after running away from his residential school in northern Ontario. Filmed in Toronto last year, the special captures Gord Downie’s performance with musicians Kevin Drew, Kevin Hearn, Josh Finlayson, Dave Hamelin and Charles Spearin. Also featuring backstage footage from the Secret Path animated film that premièred last October. (CBC)

From the creators of The Story of God with Morgan Freeman, this series follows Freeman as he travels the world to meet with people from different cultures, exploring themes that unite us all. In the premiere, he explores the concept of freedom through solitary confinement and forced labour camps, as well as social taboos and laws that hinder speech and expression. (National Geographic)
GHOSTED
The supernatural comedy airs the instalment Lockdown. The director puts the office on lockdown when an amphibious creature escapes in The Bureau Underground, giving Max (Adam Scott) and Leroy (Craig Robinson) 30 minutes to eliminate the threat. (City/Fox)
