December 2: McDougall’s 11th annual famous Christmas Cookie Walk; 8516 Athabasca St. S.E. Doors open at 10 a.m. Come and select Christmas baking already done for you.

December 2: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church at 8007 Bowness Road N.W. hosts the Christmas homemade Bake Table, Craft and White Elephant Sale of books, collectibles and more. A $6 admission includes luncheon of sandwiches, baked goodies and beverages.

December 3: Northmount Baptist Church, 451 Northmount Drive N.W., is hosting a citywide hymn sing with the Grace Presbyterian Church choir at 7 p.m. Bring a friend and join us for a great evening of wonderful music and great fellowship.

December 3: Unitarian Church of Calgary; 1703 - 1st Street NW.; 10:30 a.m.; Power of Presence — an aspect of this month’s theme is “being with” as present with another. This service will also include the awarding of this year’s Irvine Award for Justice to Susan Gillies, executive director of the Calgary Women’s Centre.

December 3: At 7 p.m., Prince of Faith Lutheran and St. George’s Anglican Churches are hosting Bruce Rawling in concert at 2523 - 56 Street N.E. Admission $2 at the door, to go toward boiler repairs at the church.

December 3: At 10 a.m., celebrate Advent 1 with lighting of the first candle on the Advent Wreath, with Pastor Deborah Kerr at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church at 8007 Bowness Road N.W.

December 10: Highwood Lutheran Church, 419 Northmount Drive N.W., is hosting its annual Advent Carol Service at 7: 30 p. m. Several choirs will be featured, offering contemporary and traditional carols. Refreshments will be served after this free event. www. highwoodlutheran.com.
