HOROSCOPE

- GEORGIA NICOLS

All signs: We have the all clear today to shop and do business. The Moon is in Virgo.

Aries (March 21 — April 19) Today: Beginning now until late January, you will be more intense and possibly even jealous. You might have to deal with disputes about shared property, inheritances, insurance issues and “who is responsible for what.”

Sunday: Avoid controversial subjects like politics, religion and racial issues. This is also a poor day to get involved in matters related to the media, publishing, medicine and the law because there is confusion. Try to sit this one out.

This week: Saturn’s move into Capricorn is super big news for your sign because it means you’re finally entering your time of harvest. This means you’ll be reaping the benefits of the seeds you planted since 2010 (and really, since 2003). Traditionally, harvest is when you reap your rewards. It might mean a time of graduation; it could mean a huge promotion or a chance to be self-employed. For some, it means marriage or the birth of a longed-for baby. Whatever takes place will be important for you and it’s something that will make you proud. It will also be something others will see is happening in your life. This is also a time of heavy responsibilities.

Taurus (April 20 — May 20) Today: Fiery Mars will oppose your sign until late January, which creates increased tension for close friendships and partnerships. This happens for about six to seven weeks every two years. Patience is your best friend.

Sunday: You might be disappointed in someone’s contribution or how they divide something with you. In fact, this disappointment could lead to a rift with a friend or partner. It’s hard to co-operate with others. It’s just one of those days.

This week: The fact Saturn is moving into Capricorn is good news for your sign because Saturn will be in your fellow Earth sign giving you support. Saturn rewards hard work with longlasting benefits. In your case, your time of harvest will begin in 2020. Until then, you must prepare to be in a position to take advantage of the opportunities that you will have then. Ideally, you can prepare by getting further training or education. Or perhaps you can travel to get a more sophisticated understanding of the world? Map out a plan.

Gemini (May 21 — June 20) Today: Today fiery Mars moves into a part of your chart that energizes you at work or any task you attempt. This high energy lasts until late in January, so you will be sailing through the holidays like PowerPoint on steroids.

Sunday: Keep a low profile and don’t get involved in discussions with a friend or partner because things could go south quickly, and suddenly you’re talking about throwing in the towel. There’s just too much confusion today! And in this confusion, people are disappointed with each other. Steer clear.

This week: Saturn defines things. It’s about construction, definition, limitation, and responsibilities. Saturn’s journey through Capricorn in the next two years means you must rely more on yourself and less on others for financial support. This does not mean you will earn less. It means you have to rely on yourself. You will emerge from this process ready to meet your time of harvest with grit and confidence.

Cancer (June 21 — July 22) Today: This holiday season will be social. From now until late January you will be prankish, energetic, flirtatious and physically turned on. Tops on your list will be amusing diversions because you want to please yourself.

Sunday: Be careful with health issues or something related to your job. You might think you have all the facts, but you don’t. Things are just a bit off kilter in your communications with others. Play it safe and take a back seat.

This week: You are entering a significant time in your life because Saturn will oppose you now for the first time since around 198990. This represents a culmination in your life of the past 14 years. Since around 2003, you reinvented yourself and figured out who you were and what you wanted. But this was a more personal development. Starting this year, you will become more public. You’ll be empowered because you’re going to go for the brass ring with focus and direction. However, this new “empowered you” might be threatening to others. Hence, the next two years will be a testing time for relationships. Those that are meant to last will endure.

Leo (July 23 — Aug. 22) Today: Increased activity at home and within your family will last until the end of January. Guard against fighting for something you don’t even understand. Avoid family disputes. Work to keep domestic harmony because this influence is gone in seven weeks.

Sunday: Romance might disappoint you. It will create misunderstandings. Likewise, relations with children might also be subject to misunderstandings. Therefore, don’t get on your high horse about anything. Be gentle.

This week: As Saturn changes signs, it’s an indication you’re entering a two-year window where you will bust your buns because it’s time to show the world what you can do. You might even feel your effectiveness as a human being is being tested. Conserve your energy. Treat your body like a tool because you’ll need it. Whatever work you accomplish in the next two years will lead to your debut in 2020. No more excuses. If you don’t accomplish what you want to, it’s either because you don’t know how or you won’t finish. Scary when you realize that it all comes down to that, isn’t it?

Virgo (Aug. 23 — Sept. 22) Today: Beginning now until late January, your verbal and intellectual energy will be strong. You might be argumentative because you’ll believe so strongly in your own ideas. My advice is to lighten up. No need to convince everyone to agree with you.

Sunday: Confusion on the home front does not bode well for family discussions. Be forgiving. It’s easy to be disappointed in others today. Be careful because misunderstandings can lead to unnecessary problems.

This week: You’ll benefit by Saturn in Capricorn because you are also a fellow Earth sign. This means that you will be strengthened and more focused in the next two years. You’ll more easily achieve your objectives. However, you might have increased responsibilities with children. You might also choose to downplay a lot of fun stuff because you feel you should be more responsible. If you work in the arts, you’ll find it easy to practise technique and hone your skills in the next two years because you will have selfdiscipline.

Libra (Sept. 23 — Oct. 22) Today: From now until late January, you might be hotheaded about money, possessions and your personal wealth. That’s because you’ll identify with what you own. Guard against wasteful spending. Use your money for something useful.

Sunday: You might spend a lot of time daydreaming today. But you might also be disappointed in relations with a sibling, relative or a daily contact because your expectations were unrealistic. Did you even communicate what your expectations were?

This week: Around 2010, whether you were aware of it or not, you began a journey of reinventing yourself with respect to how you define yourself with family, friends, your career and the world in general. Now, that job is done. You know who you are. This means it’s time to focus on home and your private life because you want to secure a refuge you can count on. This is why some of you might move. It’s also why most of you will fix up where you live so that you have a stable anchor for yourself and your family.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 — Nov. 21) Today: Fiery Mars moves into your sign, where it will stay until almost the end of January. This indicates your life will be active. Work very hard for what you want because you want to show the world what you can do. You will fight for your causes or those of others.

Sunday: This is a poor day for financial matters because there is too much confusion in the air. In addition, there is a sort of psychological disappointment in situations, partners and co-workers. Good financial decisions should be based on a positive framework. Postpone major purchases.

This week: As Saturn moves into Capricorn, it indicates that in the next two years, there is a strong possibility you’ll have a change of residence or a change of jobs or both. This roller-coaster element to your life will be introduced because you are now putting the final touches on the process of redefining the new you — a process that began in 2012. To do this, Saturn will sometimes plunge you into a different milieu, thereby forcing you to really hear, really see and really communicate with fresh energy.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 — Dec. 21) Today: Lots of background activity might take place for the rest of this month and into January. You might not know what’s going on or you might sense it. If you think someone is working against your best interests — be careful. Keep your eyes open.

Sunday: You might be so disappointed in someone you want to end the relationship. Nevertheless, you should know there is an element of confusion today. Perhaps your expectations were unrealistic? Always remember: Unexpressed expectations always lead to disappointment.

This week: More than any other sign, you are future oriented. You wonder what’s coming around the next bend. But to make intelligent decisions about a fast-changing future, you have to know what your values are. You have to know what really matters to you. In the next two years, this is what you will learn. You’re going to get a better understanding of your values so that you will know how to make future moves in a nanosecond.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 — Jan. 19) Today: For the rest of this year and well into January, you’ll formulate your goals and start to pursue them. You might feel competitive with a friend or a group. Embrace physical activity with others — something athletic and energetic.

Sunday: You might feel a bit like you are lost in the fog. You might be indecisive and not sure what to do or who to believe. Knowing this, at least decide to take no action. You’re not prepared to make a sensible, strong decision because there’s just too much fog!

This week: Saturn is in your sign for the first time since November 1988 to February 1991. This is an eventful time in your life. You have been letting go of anything that is no longer relevant. But in the bigger picture, it means that you are now about to set off on a new 30-year journey. This is big stuff! Did this happen to you around 1991-92? In the first seven years of this journey, you will reinvent yourself. Think about what you want to take on this journey and what you want to leave behind. Aquarius (Jan. 20 — Feb. 18) Today: Your ambition will be aroused this month and well into January. This is why you’re keen to achieve something and demonstrate your initiative. Naturally, you want credit for what you do and you want to be your own boss. So say we all.

Sunday: A friend might disappoint you. Perhaps you’re disappointed in a group? Either way, relations with others are dicey and confusing, which simply means don’t expect too much from others. (Hey, they might be disappointed in you, too.)

This week: People are finally realizing how talented you are. And while you’ll enjoy great press this year and people will admire your accomplishments, you’ll start mulling over decisions about what is worth keeping and what isn’t. It will begin in small ways. You will start going through closets, cupboards, garages and storage spaces and getting rid of what you no longer need. You will sell it, recycle it or give it away. You have the sense that you want to be more in control of your life.

Pisces (Feb. 19 — March 20) Today: For the next seven or eight weeks, your beliefs will be important to you. You might try to convince others to agree with you. You want to travel and expand your world through new ideas and meeting new people.

Sunday: This isn’t an ideal day for important discussions with bosses and parents. People are quick to jump to the wrong conclusions. Furthermore, they aren’t genuinely enthusiastic about the interaction. It’s as if everything is vague and too wishy-washy.

This week: You are pleased with how things are going in your life. You have a lot of responsibilities but you are also reaping the rewards of past efforts. One of the challenges you will face in the next few years is learning how to balance the demands that others make on your time with the demands you would like to make on your own time. In other words, you have to put yourself in the equation as well. You can’t just be a people pleaser. After all, you count, too! So your challenge is to find that subtle balance between your obligations and your own integrity.

If your birthday is today: Actress Judi Dench (1934) shares your birthday. You’re energetic, selfconfident and enthusiastic. You are a hard worker who rises to any challenge. This is a year of building and creating solid foundations. You will want to simplify things to channel your energy in one direction. Exercise is important. Take up any physical discipline to help ground you.

If your birthday is on Sunday: Actor/director Kenneth Branagh (1960) shares your birthday. You are friendly, charismatic, generous and very perceptive. People like your confidence. This is a year of excitement and change. Opportunities will present themselves, and when they do, you must act fast. Your personal freedom will be a priority. You will also travel this year and do things to expand your horizons.
