Supermodel posts on Instagram that something has ‘changed’ inside her
Fans speculate Adriana Lima may be retiring from Victoria’s Secret in the near future, after the model posted a cryptic message on Instagram.
Lima is perhaps best known for her work with the lingerie giant, having first walked in a show in 1999. She has appeared in consecutive presentations ever since.
However, Lima sparked conversation online over the weekend when she posted a long message on her Instagram page regarding her new stance on posing in racy photoshoots.
Regarding her comments, one user wrote, “Are you quitting VS?!” while another noted that Lima had stopped following many of her colleagues and Victoria’s Secret chief marketing officer Ed Razek: “Adriana Lima unfollowed all of the angels except for Behati (Prinsloo), Lily (Aldridge), Alessandra (Ambrosio) and Lais (Ribeiro). She also unfollowed Ed Razek and Victoria’s Secret.”
Lima has yet to respond to the debate on social media. But she did drop some major hints in her original message that she was planning to take her career in a very different direction.
“I had received a call for the possibility of filming a sexy video of me to be posted and shared in social media. Even though I have done many of this type, something had changed in me, when a friend approached me to share that she was unhappy with her body, then it made me think (sic),” the 36-yearold wrote.
Lima added that she had her own insecurities when it came to body image and admitted that her longtime career with Victoria’s Secret meant that there was a certain expectation of how she should look projected onto her at all times.
