Some of us need no reminding that the weather outside is frightful; some of us would prefer not to jingle anywhere, nevermind all the way. Here are some events where hopefully you can forget the season for a while.

Dub at the Pub 19-Year Anniversar­y with Ranking

Joe The Dub may have lost its Pub after the Drum & Monkey closed, but it goes on a few blocks away. Ranking Joe, a living reggae legend, helps celebrate another year. Saturday, Dec. 16 at The Hifi Club, 219 10th Ave. S.W. 9 p.m. $15. TF.

Timmy, Tommy & The Haunted Hotel Theatre Junction’s Next Stage series is all about up-and-comers. Pape & Taper Production­s steps up with this puppet musical about death, change and growing up. Behind the Lines The exhibition of contempora­ry Syrian art is grim at times, but it offers a connection to people experienci­ng great devastatio­n, while also broadening the definition of Syria to more than a combat zone. Juliet of the Spirits EspressoKi­no’s December spotlight on actress Giulietta Masina continues with Federico Fellini’s 1965 film in which she stars as an unhappy wife.
