Stolen vehicle investigat­ion in Red Deer nets 13 suspects, cars recovered

Mounties in Red Deer say eight people are facing 34 charges following a four-day stolen vehicle investigat­ion last week.

During the covert operation between Dec. 5 and 8, RCMP in the Red Deer area arrested 13 people, executed 34 outstandin­g warrants, laid 34 new criminal charges and seized a sawed-off rifle, various drugs and stolen property.

Mounties also recovered 11 stolen vehicles during the investigat­ion.

“While we aren’t going to divulge our methods of locating and tracking criminals in stolen vehicles in order to arrest them without harm to the public or to our police officers, I will say that our community — and the prolific criminals within it — can expect to hear about more of these types of operations,” Insp. Gerald Grobmeier of the Red Deer RCMP said in a news release.

Reanne Brodersen, 22, faces six new charges, Jeremy Terpstra, 33, faces three new charges, Christophe­r Suderman, 27, faces two new charges and was wanted on 15 outstandin­g warrants, Shanelle Cardinal, 28, was arrested on 11 outstandin­g warrants, Jeremy Hiebert, 37, faces 11 new charges, and Brianna Carroll, 22, was arrested on eight outstandin­g warrants,

Rory Forslund, 32, faces a charge for obstructin­g/resisting a peace officer, Wessam Haimour, 45, faces two charges, Gregory Deering, 29, faces six charges and a 34-yearold man was arrested for impaired driving.
