Saratoga in Skyview opens sales for apartment-style city condos

The multi-family division of a company that has been constructi­ng homes in Calgary for 39 years has launched its second apartment-style condo developmen­t in the city.

Shane Homes Multi- Family, which debuted with the Mark 101 in Sage Hill, opened pre-constructi­on sales on its followup developmen­t, Saratoga in Skyview Ranch, this week.

Once built, the developmen­t will consist of two buildings, with 100 condos in the first and 87 condos in the second. Prices start from $176,325 before GST for a onebedroom floor plan.

“We’ve tried to make these condos feel as house-like as possible,” says area manager Helena Kipp. “Even through all the trim work in the condos, it feels much like it’s a small single-family home.”

Condos with one bedroom range from 584 to 602 square feet, and with one bedroom and a den range from 721 to 766 square feet.

There are also floor plans with two bedrooms and two bathrooms that range from 848 to 929 square feet.

“Something we do that’s different than a lot of other condo developers is we’ve included laundry rooms with storage,” says Kipp. “So rather than just your typical laundry closet, we have an actual laundry room with plenty of space.

“Storage was definitely something that we focused on here. We’ve done pantries in these suites and made sure that there’s ample closet space that’s been well thought out.”

There are storage lockers for condo owners in the parkade, as well.

The developmen­t offers either heated or surface parking, depending on the condo.

Buyers will have the chance to pick from three standard contempora­ry colour palettes and three upgrade palettes.

“We have a lot of beautiful choices ... to make changes to cabinetry and tile selections, and give customers the opportunit­y to personaliz­e their home,” Kipp says.

The standard specificat­ions include nine-foot ceilings in a knockdown texture, contempora­ry flat panel cabinets with soft-close doors and drawers, Whirlpool stainless steel appliances, quartz counters, and luxury vinyl plank floors.

A grand opening for the developmen­t, including the unveiling of a show suite, is expected for late February. The show suite will present a floor plan with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Until the Saratoga show suite opens, potential buyers are encouraged to view the three show suites open at the Mark 101 in Sage Hill, which showcase a similar selection of condos.

Saratoga is in the establishe­d northeast Calgary community of SkyView Ranch, which is accessed off Metis Trail and located near exits to both Stoney Trail and Deerfoot Trail, respective­ly.

“SkyView is an establishe­d neighbourh­ood, so there’s not going to be a lot of constructi­on going on in the area,” Kipp says.

“We’ll have an extensivel­y landscaped site when it’s all complete,” she adds. “Shane Homes does a beautiful job of landscapin­g.”

The sales centre for Saratoga is open 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
