‘Smart, efficient’ home designs
Home sales are now available in a new community near Chinook Winds Regional Park in Airdrie.
Brookfield Residential — which is behind Calgary communities such as Auburn Bay, Livingston, and Seton — is developing Chinook Gate.
The community, Brookfield’s first in Airdrie, is located on the southwest corner of the small city. It’s 46 hectares and will build out to 828 homes.
“One of the biggest features of this small unique community is that it offers families effortless walking access to Chinook Winds Park — Airdrie’s best park,” says Justin Castelino, marketing manager for Brookfield Residential.
The park is more than 22 hectares and boasts three playgrounds, a skate park, spray park, toboggan hill, volleyball court, ball diamonds, and more than two kilometres of paved pathways.
Chinook Gate “offers homes that are built by quality local builders, that offer smart, efficient designs to meet the needs of Airdrie’s most busy families,” says Castelino.
Presentation centres and preconstruction sales opened for homes from Excel Homes and Brookfield’s builder division earlier in January, with Avalon Master Builder and Airdrie-based McKee Homes slated to join with sales this spring.
Brookfield is now selling rearlaned single-family homes from the low $380,000s and rear-laned semi-detached homes from the $320,000s. In both cases, this includes the lot and GST.
Brookfield has three single-family floor plans, ranging from 1,500 to 1,800 square feet. The semidetached segment comes in four floor plans, ranging from 1,400 to 1,650 square feet.
The builder has show homes under construction that are expected to open in April.
In the meantime, people interested in buying from Brookfield can visit its show homes in the north Calgary community of Livingston, which represent a similar lineup to what’s offered in Chinook Gate.
Excel Homes is offering preconstruction sales on front-drive single-family homes and laned single-family homes. A sales launch of semi-detached homes will follow Jan. 27.
There are seven front-drive floor plans ranging from 1,824 to 2,302 square feet, and starting from the low $400,000s.
Excel has two laned models measuring 1,316 and 1,413 square feet, and two semi-detached homes at 1,436 and 1,454 square feet. Laned home prices start from the mid$300,000s, and semi-detached prices will be released closer to the segment’s launch.
Both Excel and Brookfield have presentation centres on Chinook Gate Close. They’re open 2 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Fridays, weekends and holidays.
