The Parks of Harvest Hills aims toward rising success

- JOSH SKAPIN

A new community located off Country Hills Boulevard is now a landing spot for people looking to buy an apartment-style condo or townhome.

The Parks of Harvest Hills is the debut community development for Cedarglen Homes, which has Quantum-Place Developments as its development manager.

This boutique community is being constructed on land that previously belonged to the Harvest Hills Golf Course.

While pre-construction sales on single-family homes will open on Feb. 28, its multi-family segment dubbed The Rise was brought to market earlier this month by Cedarglen Living.

“It’s been well-received,” says sales and development manager Ward Haggins. A week following its launch, Haggins says it has more than 35 conditional sales.

The Rise is planned for 258 condos and 54 townhomes. Condos start from the $190,000s and townhomes are from the $300,000s.

On the development’s early appeal, Haggins points to the community’s prime location.

“All of your major routes are basically covered off,” says Haggins. “Stoney Trail, Deerfoot Trail, you’re 20 minutes to downtown (Calgary) — so that’s convenient — you’re close to the airport.”

The community is also just down the road from a retail complex, anchored by a Sobeys grocery store, and a Landmark Cinemas movie theatre. Then there’s a T&T Market that’s about a “five-minute drive” away, says Haggins.

He also credits a feature that helped inspire the community name.

“The parks and green space, network of pathways, is phenomenal,” Haggins says.

Condos range from 609 to 1,253 square feet. For this segment, the builder went the tried-and-tested route.

“We’ve had great success in other areas and want to duplicate that success ... to allow the same opportunity for the north right now as we have in the south with Seton,” says Haggins. The builder’s Seton development is called Seton Park Place II.

The townhomes range from 1,300 to 1,703 square feet and come with two or three bedrooms. The garages are available with a singlecar, tandem, or double-car format.

“We took our most popular models and made some minor tweaks that we think will put them over the edge as being some of the best plans out there,” Haggins says.
