PM puts antics ahead of pipeline

-

Re: “Trudeau’s style over substance wearing very thin,” Chris Nelson, Opinion, Feb. 26.

We need to say thank you, first to the former Indian politician who had the courage to speak up about our prime minister and his family playing Mr. and Mrs. Dressup in India. And also to Chris Nelson for his column about their dress code, and silly antics on this taxpayer-funded family vacation.

Omar Abdullah was also quick to point out that the Indian people do not dress like this for business, and I doubt their children wear ceremonial clothes to school or to play with their friends.

This was supposed to be a trip about trade and closer ties between our countries. Trudeau turned it into a week on Fantasy Island, a trip that 95 per cent of Canadian families could not afford in a lifetime. The icing on the cake is the staged photo of Sophie, dressed like Indian royalty, with a known terrorist who was sentenced to 20 years for attempted murder.

It is time that our prime minister stop playing these childish games. There is a pipeline that needs to be built from Alberta’s north to tidewater. If he is not willing to stand up for Confederation, which includes Alberta, we will start talks with the Northwest Territories, Yukon and Alaska.

Am I the only person in this country who was embarrassed to be a Canadian? I think not.
