Yorke offers space and comfort

The urban face of the Yorke Townhomes in Cornerstone, a new community by Walton Development and Management in northeast Calgary, is carried through inside its well-planned units.

A main living floor that provides enough space for family and friends to congregate in the kitchen, lounge in the living area and dine in style, all while feeling connected, is the concept Truman Homes’ new three-storey townhomes deliver.

Yorke Townhomes’ B3 floor plan is a three-bedroom townhome with a two-car attached garage on the ground level. Being an end unit, the feeling of this 1,356-squarefoot home is enhanced with natural light playing in from three sides.

The dining area at the back of the main living floor is a cheerful space with natural light flowing in from windows on two walls.

Next to it, the kitchen is configured in an L shape, with an island adding further counter space and improving traffic flow.

Adding extra consideration for neighbours sharing walls, the cabinetry includes soft-close door and drawer hardware. It also makes for a quieter cooking experience.

The range, oven and sink are located on the L-shaped counter, making it easy to slide items from sink to stove. The island, meanwhile, provides extra counter space for slicing and dicing. Adding space for casual meals or kids doing homework, the peninsula has seating for three.

Opposite the stairs leading to the ground level, a half-bathroom and a closet are found down a short hallway. The bright great room includes extra window space in the form of sliding glass doors onto the 73-square-foot deck, a lovely space to enjoy the long summer evenings.

Next to the patio doors is a builtin work station — tucked away enough to feel out of the swirl of the main floor activity, yet still connected.

The bedrooms on the top level of the B3 plan each contain touches that add style and elegance. The master bedroom features a tray ceiling, along with a narrow window high on the wall above the bed for extra light.

Built-in shelves add a touch of character and some extra function to one of the secondary bedrooms. The other includes a corner with windows in two directions, with mirrored sliding closet doors that help further brighten the room.

The master bedroom has an ensuite and walk-in closet. The secondary bedrooms share the main three-piece bathroom. The stacked laundry closet located near the top of the stairs makes that chore more convenient.

The ground level of the townhome includes the front entrance, a bedroom, storage and the twocar attached garage.

Yorke Townhomes’ 17 buildings are arranged in a double layer around a roughly square central park, with a walking path and landscaping.
