Fingerprinting shouldn’t Be A fuss
Re: “Required to provide fingerprints to keep coaching, Calgary man sues police, feds,” Feb. 12.
What’s the big deal about getting fingerprinted and held in the police records for a short time?
I have volunteered at the YMCA for many years, and every two years, have to go through the same routine as I have a coincidental birthdate. I also have an acquaintance who was a primary school teacher her whole career and has the same issue in order to continue to volunteer in retirement.
Sure, it’s a pain, but if it provides for a method to ensure that kids and vulnerable folks are protected, then get at it.
If you have a clean record and nothing to hide, there should be no issue in providing any information or biometrics. What a waste of time and money this character is causing.
