They say: This new unisex roll-on product is aluminumfree, alcohol-free and uses zinc ricinoleate and wasabi extract with essential oils to address body odour.

We say: The scent of the regular deodorant is a little more on the masculine side, so if woody isn’t your thing then back away from this one and maybe opt for the softersmelling organic option. Our tester, though, loved the scent and said it was outdoors fresh but, thankfully, avoided the freshly turned sod smell. The product goes on wet, so that takes a bit of time to get used to and a bit of time for it to dry. However, once you’re good to go, the product stands up for a whole day. $47 | Aesop

Va-Va-Plump Shiny Liquid Lipstick

They say: A line of liquid lipsticks that promise to plump lips while also providing a hit of “intense” colour and a kiss of shine. Available in 20 shades.

We say: It’s official — shiny lip colour is back. While we won’t be saying byebye to matte shades completely, there are a host of products popping up on the market that merge the liquid lipstick trend of full pigmentation, with the slightly shiny appeal of a gloss. This Buxom offering is as good as we’ve found so far, providing full-on colour that lasts, without leaving lips looking overly coated or feeling waxy. The plumping factor is minor, but we loved that it came without the telltale sting of some plumping products. $24 | Sephora

They say: A face serum that purportedly delivers visible results including hydration, lifting and radiance thanks to the peptide acetyl hexapeptide-8 for a more “youthful look.” Dermatologist tested and non-acnegenic.

We say: Promising fast results in as little as three days, our tester was a tad skeptical about how this skin treatment would perform. But, used twice per day, the visible effects in as little as three days were realized. Skin looked more hydrated and toned. Plus, the product worked well with other products, and didn’t feel weighty or greasy on the skin. $100 for 50 mL | Hudson’s Bay
