The Coming Out in Faith Monologues is an event celebrating our diverse personal stories of coming out from the LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) community. Our performers stories reveal how their spirituality connected and collided with their coming out journey. Different faith backgrounds and experiences are represented, which makes for a fun, diverse, and enlightening night! Our musical guests will be the BarberEllas! Part traditional, part sass, the BarberEllas bring great joy in singing and an impish sense of fun to the stage. Founded in 2012, this small group performs songs in close harmony, usually in barbershop style, and (almost) always in hats! The BarberEllas have performed at a number of community events around Calgary over the years, including The Coming Out Monologues, the Dyke and Trans* March, HIV Community Link’s Community Voices concert, and One Voice Chorus concerts.
