New home sales in Tuscany winding down

- JOSH SKAPIN

An enclave that gave people an extended opportunity to buy a new home in Tuscany is now down to its last stretch of sales.

Tuscany is an established community on the northwest end of the city, and according to the Calgary Real Estate Board, paced all neighbourhoods in resale of single-family homes last year.

While largely built out, Avi Land, which is part of Homes by Avi Group of Companies, gave house hunters interested in Tuscany a fresh chance to buy a new home.

Its 128-lot enclave dubbed Tesoro — located just off 12 Mile Coulee Road — opened sales with a builder group of Homes by Avi and Albi Luxury by Brookfield Residential in 2016, and is now down its final eight lots and handful of quick possession single-family homes.

All eight lots, which range from 30 to 32 feet wide, belong to Homes by Avi. These homes start from $550,000 including the lot and GST.

“Tesoro is a masterfully planned development within Tuscany, which offers the best of Calgary,” says Rut Kaufman, area sales manager in Tesoro. “With clear mountain views and city amenities in walking distance, this great established community has everything for young families, adventure seekers and everything in between.”

Homes by Avi’s floor plan lineup for the community ranges from between 1,733 and 2,400 square feet.

The builder also has quick possession homes in its McCormick, Yorkton, Reynolds, and Kelsey floor plans. Albi’s final home in the community is its Casetta model, and available for immediate possession.

Tuscany has a CTrain station and established retail complex, anchored by a Sobeys grocery store. It also features large amounts of green space. In Tesoro alone, there’s about 0.8 hectares in municipal reserve, including a park and playground area.

“After nearly four decades of continued growth and expansion, Homes by Avi launched Avi Land,” says Alice Mateyko, president of Homes by Avi’s single-family di- vision. “With Tuscany being our inaugural development, we’ve worked hard to instil our coveted brand into this project and it’s been a great success.

“Looking ahead, we are excited to bring all that we’ve learned with our Tuscany development to future projects,” she adds.

While Homes by Avi’s Hawthorne show home in the community is sold, it’s viewable until mid-May. It’s open from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
