GENESIS BUILDERS GROUP

- Josh Skapin

Multi-Family Community of the Year recognizes the strength of a development in its entirety. This year it went to northeast Calgary’s Ashbury of Saddlestone by Genesis Builders Group. Here’s an edited interview with Genesis sales manager Nancy Smith.

Q To what do you attribute Ashbury winning Multi-Family Community of the Year?

A The unique position of the project overlooking a pond area and stylish contemporary exterior finishes.

Q What do you feel is key to a successful multi-family development?

A Integrating this type of home into the community. This means ensuring amenities are evenly and equally accessible, no matter the home style and price point. As well, understanding that busy people enjoy the benefit of low maintenance townhome living but still want the right spaces inside their home, translating to a variety of sizes and uses of the spaces.

Q What does this award tell potential buyers about Genesis?

A Genesis is an evolving company, and we are being especially proactive about our designs and bringing value to our homeowners and their neighbourhoods.

Q What’s next for Genesis and multi-family development? Any new projects you can share details about?

A Right across the street from Ashbury in the established Saddlestone community is another townhome project called Laurels, also on the pond with stylish modern exteriors. In the Canals in Airdrie, we are also excited to start Newport, which is uniquely nestled in a completed community. All the amenities are nearby with several different floor plans. One, two and three bedrooms make them suitable for anyone’s new chapter in life.
