KON-STRUX DEVELOPMENTS

- Josh Skapin

After starting the year with three national honours, Konstrux Developments’ time at the awards podium continued at the local level, including capturing the crown for Renovator of the Year. Here’s an edited interview with Shannon Lenstra, president of Kon-strux Developments.

Q To what do you attribute this year’s Renovator of the Year award?

A Our team of clients, designers and employees are amazing. 2017 was a year where we had the opportunity to work with a variety of incredible clients and complete projects that were designed by amazing designers and architects. This team of colleagues and clients offered us these phenomenal opportunities for which we are forever honoured and grateful.

Q What does this award tell people who are looking into companies to complete their home renovation?

A This award shows people that Kon-strux thinks out of the box and pushes the limits. We focus on the client’s needs and wants while putting a unique design and twist to each and every construction project. It shows people that every space can be amazing and does not have to be a cookie cutter, but yet a client’s dream can come true.

At Kon-strux, we make each project special and unique, we value-engineer in each project to suite the client’s budget.

Q What do you see for the renovation market in Calgary in the coming year?

A We feel the public’s perception of the economy is turning around. More people are investing in their homes and putting money into a wonderful space that typifies their lifestyle.

Q What do you think is the key to a successful renovation project?

A Step 1: We feel it is to have a good solid team that shares the same passion.

Step 2: Having a great client with an open mind and eagerness for success. This is a huge part as the more trust a client has in us, the better a project ends up.

Step 3: Investing time and having the appropriate budget for the dreamed scope of work is also key to a successful overall outstanding finished project.

However, in the end, the biggest part is a satisfied client.

Q What’s coming up next for Kon-strux?

A We want to continue to work with amazing clients, architects and designers.

Kon-strux’s cutting edge design pushes the limits and sets the bar higher with each and every home we do.

We want to accomplish and show designs that have never been done before and are custom masterpieces.
