Riverview Custom Homes has won Builder of Merit for small volume producers three of the past four years. Christopher York, president, talks about the factors that have led to the company’s success.
Q To what do you attribute this year’s Builder of Merit award?
A We built some great homes in 2017. Behind those homes were incredible clients and project management/design team. We were fortunate to have a broad range this year that spanned several price categories. Our homes weren’t competing against each other and the homes that were nominated or won in their respective categories were all beautiful.
Q What does this award tell people who are looking for a company to build their custom home?
A This is the highest award a custom home builder can receive in Calgary. Riverview is committed to excellence in every facet of the building process. We are proud of our creations and want to be the top choice for Calgarians when they are looking for someone to trust with creating their home.
Q You’ve won this award three of the last four years. What does this say about the consistency of the company?
A Riverview gets stronger every year. We are running a passionate company that continues to produce and be recognized for high-end, beautiful and unique family homes. Our trade base is loyal, our client base is growing, and our staff is comprised of some of the best building minds in the city. We continuously strive to improve the company and to provide the best overall customer experience that Calgary offers.
Q What do you see from the custom home market in Calgary in the coming year?
A I think the custom market continues to grow. There is still plenty of infill land available, and I think the people with the resources and time will continue to build to get what they want. I see property values increasing in Calgary and I see architecture in the city continuing to progress.
We are having a lot of fun and being part of the custom build process is exciting for both our clients and us.
