DESTINY BY JAYMAN BUILT
Perfect for entertaining, socializing
When finding a home that suits the needs of someone who likes to entertain, the right great room is integral.
People in the market for a laned single-family home can find such a space in the Destiny 20 model by Jayman Built. The builder has this functional 1,566-square-foot floor plan displayed as a show home in Belmont.
Master-planned by Anthem United, this is the newest community on the south end of Calgary.
Some of the keys to a welcoming place for people to sit and socialize are natural light and size, two things the great room in the Destiny has in spades. It’s 12 feet by 15 feet, seven inches, which is comparable to spaces of this kind in some larger front-drive singlefamily homes.
As displayed in the show home, it has the area for several pieces of furniture and the ability to circulate without feeling cramped.
The room gets a generous amount of sunlight through a row of towering front-facing windows, and another two windows on a side wall. Light flows in from a door with a glass insert and transom window from the adjacent foyer as well.
The great room is part of an openconcept main floor that includes a central kitchen and dining area along the back of the home — both of which play an important role in the home’s ability to entertain.
In the kitchen, there’s a substantial island with a sink and extended eating bar that comfortably seats three people. It’s easy to imagine this as a feature that people will gather around and chat. All of the kitchen features are found along one wall, such as the full-height backsplash and stainless-steel appliances, including an over-the-range microwave.
The dining area — defined by an eye-catching bulkhead — sits under a well-sized window with views of the backyard and optional deck.
The second level has three spacious bedrooms, with a master bedroom along with an ensuite and walk-in closet along the front of the home, and two similarly-sized secondary bedrooms that are located
side by side along the back. A full bathroom and laundry room with a front-load washer and dryer are located on this level as well.
The show home’s basement is developed and boasts a spacious rec area, full bathroom and fourth bedroom with a walk-in closet.
Belmont is being development on a scenic stretch of land southeast of Silverado, bordered to the north by 194th Avenue S.W. and south by 210th Avenue. When complete, the community will have more than 2,000 homes.
One of the amenities planned for the community is a recreation centre through the City of Calgary. With a catchment area that includes established new communities such as Silverado, Legacy and Walden, Belmont is on tap to get a facility of this kind sooner than most new communities would.
Connections are an important part of the new community, too, with a future LRT station planned to be located 500 metres from Belmont.
