THE VIEW AT CRESTMONT

Sweeping vistas, large lots

- JOSH SKAPIN

A new extension of the community of Crestmont is providing house hunters with a rare find.

In an area called Crestmont View, there are opportunities to build a new estate home on an acreage lot in a master-planned community within Calgary city limits.

Lot sizes range from 0.25 acres (0.10 hectares) to 1.65 acres (0.66 hectares) and there are 25 such opportunities. Pre-construction sales on homes in this development opened recently.

This follows Crestmont West — a new but separate portion of the southwest community of Crestmont by Qualico Communities — that launched last year.

“Crestmont View will be one of Calgary’s most exclusive neighbourhoods,” says Cheryl Heilman, Qualico’s director of marketing. “Nowhere within city limits will you have the opportunity to build on lots of this size, and landscape. This is the last chance to be a part of something this unique.

“For the person who enjoys prestige and exclusivity ... Crestmont View will be where they build their next home.”

These homes will be custom, allowing the purchaser to create the spaces to support their lifestyle as they see fit, says Heilman.

“If someone wants to build a wine cellar built for 2,000 bottles, and the perfect humidity control, they can,” she adds. “If they have been dreaming of building a complete spa, with an indoor swimming pool — that is a possibility.

“Home gyms, a theatre wired for surround sound, the sky is the limit.”

The builder group is composed of Augusta Fine Homes and Calbridge Homes, which was crowned Builder of the Year at the BILD (Building Industry and Land Development) Calgary Region Awards earlier this year. Potential buyers can reach out to both companies directly to book a tour of the land and discuss options around their home.

“Augusta Fine Homes will build you your luxury dream home,” says Wendee Bishop, marketing manager and creative director with Augusta Fine Homes. “Augusta builds one-of-a-kind homes in some of the most desirable areas of the city; we are thrilled to participate in building on the last of their kind, acreage estate lots in the city of Calgary.”

Michelle Jakeman, Calbridge’s director of sales and marketing says the builder is “very excited and proud to be part of Crestmont View.”

“Calbridge Homes realizes the great opportunity to be a part of the final chance to own spectacular, grand, estate lots within the city, many with incredible views.”

Show homes for both builders are expected to open in autumn 2019.

Beyond the custom homes and lot sizes, house hunters will be attracted to the well-connected landscape of Crestmont View.

“The location, itself, is incredible,” says Heilman, pointing to its connectivity. “You have quick access to the mountains and downtown.

And as the name of the development suggests, the sightlines stand out.

Homes will be built in collections dubbed Valley View, The Meadow and the Woodland Collection. The valley, meadow and woodlands are among the assortment of striking sight lines possible from homes in this boutique acreage development, says the developer.

“The most appealing part is the vantage points from Crestmont View are second to none,” Heilman says. “Views of the mountains, the river valley and beautiful aspen forests.

“The fantastic part of these estate acreages is you know that view is not going to change.”
