The leaves have yet to turn but JazzYYC is already planning its fall lineup of events.

Illuminate concerts in September, November and December will showcase music ranging from traditiona­l-inspired jazz to the hottest guitar ensemble in Canada and a six-piece JUNO nominated Toronto supergroup.

Tamir Hendelman plays Sept. 21 in Studio Bell at the National Music Centre. November 9 sees Montreal Guitare Trio play in the same venue while Ernesto Cervini’s Turboprop runs wild in the King Eddy Dec. 1.

The Canadian Jazz Festival then runs Nov. 8-11 at various venues in town. The Canadian Stage at the Ironwood Stage and Grill will host Harry Vetro’s Northern Ranger, Rachel Therrien, Ethan Ardelli Quartet and Barbra Lica. The Alberta Stage at Lolita’s Lounge has Audrey Ochoa and Allison Lynch. Workshops will be held at Long & McQuade’s south music store and a jazz jam will swing in Kawa Espresso Bar in the Beltline. Don’t miss the jazz walk in Inglewood featuring the Al Muirhead Big Band.
