MATTAMY COLLECTION

Choose one of six in Yorkville

- MARTY HOPE

With six models to choose from, Mattamy Homes has pretty much got the urban townhome market niches covered with its Yorkville show home collection.

“We’re seeing a nice blend of young couples and downsizers looking at what we have to offer,” says Karla Schultz, senior marketing manager at Mattamy.

Models being offered by Mattamy in its still developing southwest community of Yorkville range in size from 1,177 square feet up to 1,508 square feet. Prices run from $314,990 — and there are no condo fees.

With construction of townhomes “well underway,” Schultz says sales to date have topped 20 — with the Madison the most popular of the available floor plans since the show homes opened in midSeptember.

The parade of show homes is just a small sampling of what Mattamy Homes will have to offer in the townhome segments of Yorkville. Schultz says that in the first two phases of the development there will be 189 units constructed.

“We are also looking at some live/work townhome options down the road,” she adds.

So, what makes the Madison, priced from $334,990, so popular?

“Being an end unit, it has extra window space to allow more natural light,” she says. “As well, the open-concept main floor kitchengreat room-dining area is appealing.”

Stepping through the front door, luxury vinyl plank floor starts at the foyer and spreads out across the whole main living level of the home.

The nearly 15-foot wide and 11foot deep great room is at the front of the home followed by the roomy kitchen and adjoining dining area with a side window.

The L-shaped kitchen is shown with plenty of deep, richly stained

cabinet space, quartz countertops and island, mosaic backsplash and stainless steel appliances.

The pantry is set into one wall of the dining area, and at the other end is the stairway to the upper floor.

Behind the kitchen is an area with the powder room, small closet, stairs leading to the basement level, and the rear garage entry.

Taking the carpeted stairway to the upper landing, the rear of the home has a 14 foot by 10 foot loft with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace faced with tile and with room for a large-screen TV. Sliding doors from the loft open to a 20 foot by 12 foot balcony.

Moving down the upper hallway, there is a laundry room with stacking washer and dryer, the main bath with tiled floor and tub surround, vanity with quartz top.

A good-sized walk-in closet is across the hall from a bedroom and at the entrance to the owner’s retreat. The bedroom area is carpeted, and the ensuite has a tile floor, quartz-topped vanity, and stall shower with mosaic tiled walls.

The basement can be developed for additional living space.

Schultz says possessions of townhomes will begin in May.
