Hitmen to face Pats outdoors
The Calgary Hitmen are heading outdoors.
They’ve got the invite to play the Regina Pats outdoors at Mosaic Stadium this fall in the Prairie Classic. The Western Hockey League game in the Saskatchewan capital on Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. will be the second outdoor meeting between the two franchises, who met eight years ago in a WHL outdoor game at Mcmahon Stadium.
That game on Feb. 21, 2011, in Calgary set a Canadian Hockey League attendance record, drawing 20,888 fans.
The Prairie Classic is part of Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic Week, which will also see a National Hockey League game between the Calgary Flames and the Winnipeg Jets the previous day, Oct. 26.
“We are excited and honoured to have the opportunity to participate in Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic Week,” said Hitmen vice-president and alternate governor Mike Moore. “On behalf of the Calgary Hitmen organization, I would like to thank the Regina Pats for the invite to this memorable event. We look forward to sharing in our second outdoor experience with the Pats.”
Tickets to the Hitmen-pats outdoor game will go on sale Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.ca. General seating for the event will be $18.50, which includes all fees and taxes.

“To be able to showcase our club outdoors at Mosaic Stadium will be an event no one will forget.”
