Crestmont West launches new townhomes, bungalows

- CINDY STEPHEN

Partners Development Group has opened its first show home in Arrive at Crestmont on the west side.

The 175-unit development in Crestmont West by Qualico Communities features two-storey townhomes priced from the $330,000s and bungalows from the $460,000s.

Partners chose the single-level Twilight bungalow as its first model home and opened the doors on Oct. 12 to a steady stream of boomer-aged visitors. Area sales manager Max Lalonde says opening a bungalow rather than a townhome was a priority, enabling their specific demographic of homebuyers to see the product in person.

“People interested in single-level living are primarily 55-plus. Families are looking at our townhomes and younger people can often buy off floor plans. The townhomes are selling the most, but now that we have a bungalow, sales of those will start increasing,” he says.

The two bungalow floor plans — the single attached garage Twilight and the double attached garage Eve — have a master bedroom on the main floor with additional bedrooms downstairs in either a walkout or sunshine basement.

The model home is an end unit with 1,070 square feet on the main floor and 843 square feet of developed space downstairs.

The largest model is the Eve at 1,340 square feet on the main and another 1,212 square feet on the lower level. The Eve features a main-floor den.

Each home has vaulted ceilings, eight-foot doors, 36-inch-wide accessible passageways and a fully tiled curb-less shower. Lalonde says most of their interior selections are similar to what buyers might find in a single-family home.

“It’s important that our buyers feel that they’re downsizing and not downgrading. It’s a stigma about downsizing. It’s a hard thing for people to grapple with,” he says.

Condo fees at Arrive Crestmont are strictly for exterior maintenance, care of the grounds and membership in the Crestmont Homeowners’ Association.

In response to the demand for single-level homes and despite the higher price tag, Partners Development Group revised its strategy earlier this year when planning its Arrive at D’arcy project in Okotoks, replacing some of the planned two-storey townhomes with bungalows.

The grand opening of the Twilight show home has been extended to Saturday and Sunday at 12576 Crestmont Blvd. S.W.
