Toronto FC signed goalkeeper Kevin Silva on Friday.

As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Kevin has worked hard and performed well throughout his time with TFC II. He has a great attitude and will continue to develop working alongside Quentin (Westberg) and Alex (Bono) on the first team,” said TFC general manager Ali Curtis.

Silva, 22, signed with Toronto FC II on Jan. 19, 2020. He spent the 2019 USL League One season with TFC II on loan from Scottish club Heart of Midlothian FC Reserves. He made eight appearances and recorded two clean sheets for the Young Reds last season.

Prior to joining TFC II, Silva made five appearances for Heart of Midlothian FC Reserves in 2018 and later spent time on loan with Raith Rovers FC of the Scottish Third Division.

The native of Bethlehem, Pa., played college soccer for the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He played in 30 matches for the Bruins, earning seven clean sheets in two seasons.

TFC has moved the club’s travel date for the MLS is Back Tournament by one day and will now depart for Orlando on Saturday in order to complete pre-travel testing.

The team tested on Friday afternoon in order to receive the results by Saturday.

In a conference call on Thursday, TFC coach Greg Vanney expressed concern over his team travelling to Florida, which is currently a hot zone for COVID -19 cases, and said he’s not sure if playing is worth the risk if it means travelling to the Sunshine State.
