Young also deserve a voice on pensions
With talk of Alberta leaving the CPP and forming its own pension plan, I find it interesting that the foremost advocates of an APP are individuals over 65 with multiple pensions including the CPP (Jay Hill, Ted Morton). Where is the groundswell of support for an APP from anyone under 40, many of whom will never have access to a Defined Benefit Pension Plan through their employer(s)? It is more illuminating to hear from those who have some skin in the game.
For context, I don’t consider the one-note commentary from the young minions at the Canadian Taxpayers Federation and the Fraser Institute as representative of the under-40 demographic. Michael Desautels, Calgary
